How do you propose to do that without any organization of the pilot group?
do you really think you can continue to use sapa as a way to organize pilots when clearly its a fraudulent organization which is severely biased based on the conflict of interest of whos funding it? |
[quote=MudPupppy;258961]What we found at Colgan after the ALPA vote was not anti-ALPA sentiment but apathy. It's unfortunate so few actually take the time to learn about the business realities around them. "Those who stand for nothing, fall for anything."
So what will the Skywest pilots do now after the courts restrict the student council? [quote] Again who's gonna take SkyWest to court on SAPA, now that ALPA is gone who cares enough to spend the time and money in court? As a SkyWest pilot, I don't necessarily like SAPA all that much, but now that ALPA is out, it's all we've got, and at the very least it serves as channel of communication between 2800 pilots and management. I guess I'm saying I'd rather have that than nothing. |

When are half the people on this board going to realize that the sentiment behind this election was not "We don't want representation" but "We don't want ALPA?"
Many OO pilots (myself included) are NOT anti-union.....we just feel that ALPA doesn't have OUR best interests in mind. Then why so few voted for teamsters, or another union? What union would best serve the Skywest pilots interests? The truck drivers? An inhouse that won't have a budget to get a contract? This is a problem in the regional world, what have YOU done to come up with a solution? |

Oh well, one more reason to get motivated to leave.
You should leave, and as soon as you can, if things aren't working out for you, and the future is so dismal. Good luck. |

It's already in court, the judge hasn't fully ruled on SAPA from the ALPA lawsuit earlier in the year.

So few voted for others because they were intelligent enough to know that it was either ALPA or nothing. They also they weren't running. To make a metaphor of it, it would've been like voting for Ralph Nader. A vote for Ralph was a vote for Bush, much like a vote for teamsters was a vote for ALPA.

So, looking to the future, how do we get those 900-ish folks to concentrate their efforts to make the SkyWest that we have TODAY, better tomorrow? Now we must move forward and try to remain united as a pilot group. |

I can't imagine ALPA will continue to pursue it in further hearings.
