For those of you that live away from base, how hard would it be to commute to NYC from BOS. Would it be tough to do this without obtaining a crashpad? Case and point, can I sit reserve in Boston if I work in NYC?

Depends on how long your call out window is. If it were 3 hours and you were close to Logan it could be doable...but you better keep an eye on weather and delays. In general, no, you'd need a crashpad where you are based.

Everything is relative, but when my LGA base closed and we all got shipped to BOS, I knew plenty of guys that sat RSV at LGA. They would drive home every night and do it all over again the next day. Bear in mind, this was when both the USAir and Delta shuttles were running full schedules and there is a flight every half hour throughout most of the day.

ive heard anywhere from 175-250. i pay 200.
and no i dont think that you could sit reserve in BOS and be based out of NYC. like everyone else said unless you ahve a long call out it would be playing russian roulette.
