Default I dont get it

I come onthis site to ask honest questions. I am trying to become an airline pilot and I thought this would be a great site to seek information about such a career. But all I get is insults, ridicule and critisims. I am looking fo rintelligent respncs that will help guide me in my decision. Thats all.

Before you get intelligent responses, you must ask intelligent questions.

Just keep asking the questions. That is the beauty of this site, anonymity. You can ask whatever you want and not have to show yourself. Conversely, children who ridicule and mock on this site share the same luxury.

Just ignore them and ask away.

And just think, this forum is MUCH better than Flightinfo...

You're going to get answers to your questions, but you might have to wade through a little chaff and you might not like the (blunt) answers you get.

As my good friend Tony C says, "The truth only hurts if it should."

Probably because you ask questions, and sometimes you don't like the answers. Or, people don't answer them like YOU think they should. Saw you do it during the AA thread a while back, and know you are doing it with the CP thread.

And I've asked you many times before, learn to spell and use at least some grammar.

Allow me to apologize for all the knuckleheads that you are referring to. There are still some of us who will answer questions without giving you grief. So, keep the questions coming, someone will point you in the right direction.

I seriously mean no offense here, but a lot of the response have to do with the attitude that is brought to the table. Whether it is intended or not, some of your posts have the "I don't care about anyone else but me" tone when you are asking questions, so that leads to some rough remarks in return given the group that you're dealing with here.

Plus, that's just the way forums work. A year ago I was asking a question on a motorcycle board about a simple mechanical issue and after others told me everything short of "Jump in front of a train because you don't get it", I finally got my answer.

So it's twofold, part of the grief you are getting is unavoidable because of the topics you're bringing up (the CP thread is the only one I've read of yours). Secondly though, you just need a thick skin and take nothing personally on these boards.

(Like water off a toiletduck's back???)

You came on a site dedicated to line pilots, occupied by line pilots and dealing with line pilot issues. You asked a question about being in a management position that harbors a lot of animosity for those line pilots. You expected that we all revere the chief pilot and hope to one day become one. Guess what, we don't. Sorry.

What I don't get is why you can't get over the fact that a vast majority of the members of this board have no desire to pursue a management position and have a great amount of animosity towards them. As a couple stated, in most cases dealing with the chief is just like going to the principal's office. It's rarely a good experience.

Boiler beat me to the Tony C. quote. That man could not have said it better.
