Default CNN is now saying all are dead

Unfortunately CNN.com is now reporting that all 19 people aboard the Grumman Mallard operated by Chalks Ocean Airways have perished.

MSNBC has this on it's website. Apparently a photo from a witness on the beach with a cell phone camera

Looks like a wing caught fire before they hit the water.
2 babies on board. Very sad.

This will be an interesting NTSB investigation.

Quite obvious the starboard wing separated from the A/C. The otherwise intact A/C went almost straight in and the blazing wing/fuel cell, on a different trajectory, followed.

These old Grummans don’t fare well with out-of-control engine fires. The wing spar tends to burn through in about 2 minutes, if you don’t get the fire under control.

Don’t know if it was an explosion or fire (investigation will tell), but whatever occurred did so at or near the starboard wing root, as the port wing and fuselage appeared to be quite visibly intact in the death plunge.

God rest their souls
