Gate Agents...

DC-9 and ND. I think I can guess what company that is!
I had an AA gate agent get upset with me when I was trying to commute to work a couple of weeks ago. I was very polite and all she could do was complain and tell me how she didn't have time to be taking care of someone wanting to jumpseat. She felt that it was necessary to tell me over and over that I needed to do it at the ticket counter and not the gate. I just said "ok" and sat down after she finished. Needless to say that CA was right there and saw the whole thing.

not trying to open a wound but we aren't that bad are we? actually, i've encountered some pretty "harsh"(to say the absolute least) agents and i've followed through to get to their supervisors. just keep in mind, for the most part, it is not you, it is the bad weather and maintenance aircraft that is suppose to go to a big connection city and the crew timing out oh and dispatch is working against us. it is the gate house filled with bytchin passengers asking the dumbest questions possible. and it is some of the cocky crew members that walk through thinking they are the level below God.
just a few cities to avoid, LGA, JFK, ATL. CVG has been good for me but i think it is because they know i work for comair. try to fly through the smaller cities rather than the hubs. and remember, get there how you can. gate agents can do so much......
