I don't know if it's a total cessation of ops, but I can definitely confirm they are stopping all of their delta flying on 01/07/08. Delta is already contacting pax and making other arrangements for them. I sincerely wish all the Big Sky guys the best.

Big Sky guys/gals, wish you all the best. I interviewed at the open house in Boston, but the chief pilot there made me feel less than shall we say, welcomed.

Eagle is hiring, if you need help, shoot me a p.m.

I recommended a friend from that jobfair and he had nothing but good to say about the people there and the process. I know he looked forward to the January class but that won't happen now I guess. I guess it's easy for you to talk bad about someone you don't know. From my own experience our CP has been good to me. Good luck everyone!

Well, unfortunately I am a member of what appears to be that doomed January class. So far I haven't heard anything from BSY on the matter. I'm sure it doesn't help that the CP is on vacation right now. Anyway, for all of you that like to read from other than the gossip columns , here is the link to the press release. It looks like a complete and permanent shut down of all east coast operations.

It looks like I'll have to start returning those calls from Colgan and Pinnacle after all

As a matter of fact I didn't know jack about this and I don't know how he can benefit from having believed in me when I got hired with very little time, just like many other fellow pilots here. Just like you I didn't have a rich daddy paying my way and in case you didn't know the CP left his country behind and worked long and hard before he got hired by Bigsky 10-12 years ago. You have som much hate that I seriously think there's something wrong with you. Are you sure you are fit to fly? Anger doesn't belong in the cockpit so call in sick for a while.

I've explained to you before that I didn't have a "rich daddy". I already had a career (I was a firefighter) when I decided to start flying. I wasn't some young kid with a silver spoon in my mouth. I also had a wife and two kids when I decided to start flying. I went back to school (on my dime) and started flying (on my dime) so that I could pursue a career in this business. I paid for my school (on my dime with some financial aid from the US govt and loans from Sallie Mae), no one else. I worked a full-time job and two part-time jobs so that I could get to this point in my life. My wife and kids all sacrificed a lot so that I could be a pilot.

You seem to be very misinformed. Have we met? Did someone tell you these incorrect things about me? Do you have the balls to contact me so that we can clear that up? You didn't last time I PM'd you my number. Maybe this time you will. I doubt it. Just another big talker.

You are correct in my dislike of GQ's CP. I feel my dislike in warranted. He blatantly lied to my face when all he had to do was tell me the truth about something. I believe he did it to avoid the confrontation that it would have caused because he is a coward and a weasel.

And if you honestly think that you got hired at Big Sky because Stig believed in you, you are the idiot that I always thought you were. You got hired because they needed to fill a position and you were qualified. Please don't let people make you feel like they are doing you a favor everytime you get hired somewhere. You got the job because you deserved it. You owe them nothing except to do your job well and safely. After what Fred and co. are doing to you right now, I'd hope that you would start to figure that one out.

No hard feelings. Good luck.

I'm seeing a lot of flamebait at this thread in the last few posts. Everyone needs to cool their jets a bit.

Mccube,

Have you heard anything about what your going to do? Did they give you any notice about the closing?

Frankly, I'm just a bit curious at this point, and a little miffed that they couldn't have told me BEFORE I had to quit my current job. Anyway, I'd like to know what you know about how this is going to effect the current BOS pilots?
