The last line in the qualifications for an FO position at Seaborne:

"Must be willing to wear shorts and sneakers as a uniform, ties are not allowed and ball caps are optional"

Ya see, that's my problem. I think if I got hired there, I would never leave. (Hense my avitar and my 'signature') I am a beach bum with a license to fly...what can I say...

My father wasn't to thrilled about the idea when I told him, but what can you do?

if your looking to do some island flying in the largest bush plane around go to eagle and pick the SJU base. Youll get to expirence the islands and the 121 world at the same time.

What about cost of living in the Islands on the pay.. Can it be done?

There's nothing more I’d rather do then to bum around on floats but I have a family to support..

Slightly off subject, does anyone know of a cheap place to do a MES?

That's what I am curious about. I can't seem to find anything on Google. Try looking up real estate/rentals on the islands. I'd be curious even just to hear what an apartment would be per month?

There's a place down near Lakeland, FL that does the rating in a Twin Comanche I think? Google that, that's how I found it. It's a Multi-Engine rating, so no matter how you cut the mustard...It's going to be expensive!

Laxrox do you have a contact at Seaborne? If so, they might be able to help with housing info..

Check craigslist. I was looking on there earlier and you can find a few rentals listed in USVI. A lot of it is expensive holiday rentals, but there are some listings for locals, too. Not cheap, but not as expensive as one might expect.
