How long is reserve for LGA/MIA/SJU folks? Also, how tough is it to be based in LGA and SJU and commute?

Thanks in advance.

Don't know how long reserve in these places are these days. But probably not too long. I was however based in both LGA and SJU at one time or another. Plenty of crashpads at both places. Don't know about MIA. As for commutability, it really depends on where you live. LGA is quite easy, as far as options go. But when the WX hits and/or the controllers feel like showing their clout, it can get ugly in terms of getting there on time.

SJU is easy if you live in NYC or MIA. Direct AA flights out of JFK all day long. But expect to ride the jumpseat on the A300 (NOT comfortable) maybe 70% of the time. Those flights are almost always packed. I did it for about 6 months, and it was survivable as far as commutes go. ATL is also an option, as Delta has a few flights to "the rock." AA out of DFW also has a few, but from what I remember: full flights, and there is also quite a bit of competition for the jumpseat there.

MIA reserve at this time is around 2 months but this could change as there is a lot movement lately. Our lines also make reserve unpredictable.Lines keep lacking consistency for jan' the lines are good for non commuters and bad for commuters not very many four day trips and "no" three day trips. Mostly day and two day back to backs. This is probably due to the union not being very active since AMR released their plans. At this point I could percieve that a lot of people are just waiting to make a move to either quit or go to the other side of the house looking for stability which makes predictions of your reserve harder!!! Hope this helps.....

I just heard that AE won't let you pick MIA as a base, but SJU is open. Is staffing not as bad in MIA?

Thanks in advance.

Would someone mind telling me where the CRJ 700s are based for AE.

Thanks in advance.
