So please don't say I shouldn't blame it on the pilots, because I am not. So if SkyWest were to try to bid on flying, where would they get the airplanes. I really don't know of any regional that just has 50 seaters laying around. Not trying for an argument, just really curious as to how SkyWest would staff the flying. I guess maybe they would have more time to pull planes out of the sand it they needed to?
It's posts like this why I tell people to never listen to someone unless they actually work at the company. Of course, I'm still waiting for some sort of press release, media coverage, or, at the very least a SINGLE WRITTEN STATEMENT from any person with the title of "Manager" at either company. That means gate agents, flight attendants, rampers, or any other "reliable sources" everyone loves to quote don't count. Sorry.

As for the contract with CAL:

20 ERJ's for 10 years

24 CRJ's for 24 months

***************CONSPIRACY THEORY TIME****************

I would look for RAH to move 145's off the UAL and DAL lines as they're replaced by 170/175's (previously announced) to start replacing the CRJ's currently bummin' around Texas. The alternate theory is CAL pulls the CRJ flying and it goes to another regional (neither XJT or CHQ). That would bring an interesting quandry in that now XJT AND CHQ crews can scream "DEY TOOK OUR JOOOOOOOOOOBBBBBS!" at some other poor carrier for an extended period of time.
