Default What's in the works at SkyWest?

We're all expecting something big sometime early next quarter, correct? The Southwest rumor has been beaten to death. I am thinking there are more plausible rumors running around. Don't mean for this to be a rumor-mill, or worse a flame-fest, but I know most of us are fairly curious...

Ideas I've heard/thought:

Southwest (ummm...that's a longshot)
Continental (when is CHQ's contract over?)
United (bye, bye Mesa)

Still haven't heard anything official about the Midwest flying - heard through the grapevine that it was a done deal for 8 additional birds in March...

Now wouldn't it be completely, and terribly anti-climactic and disappointing if the "big news" were really just the addt'l Midwest flying and the opening of an MCI domicile?

I am confident about the Midwest flying not being that news-flash...I think the big news will be either United or Continental. You heard it here first...!

JA told us that it had to do with the length of contract that CAL wanted (too short).

Is anyone else a little confused about the CRJ CA class that was supposed to be going on in early January?

Something is coming. The question is what? Despite what Airsupport might think there has been something in the works for several months. The rumors were just a little early at leaking out this go around. The Midwest flying is going to happen but Midwest has asked us to hold off on an announcement. The rumors are running wild on what the other big news is but only one of them is true.

Don't count out the US AIR flying that MESA is currently doing either.

What's confusing you about the CRJ CA class? Although I have yet to see anyone who has accepted the award. Usually by now they've started popping up.

As for the CAL flying being to short, how long is to short? How long was the CAL flying supposed to be for? He did ink a 5 yr deal with Midwest.

I don't have to commute anymore. Nothing else matters.

At least for a few days.

I heard we are getting A380s for Southwest...being as they prefer express carriers that fly larger airplanes than they do...honestly though, who knows what's gonna happen.

Sorry to bust your bubble but SWA doesn't want us to fly A380's..................its Emirates and we’re open our Dubai domicile in June! First reports are for 100 a/c spilt between A380's and B1900's. LOL!

OK, seriously I getting sick of these threads which continue to show just how much Kool-Aid we're all drinking. Let’s cool our jets (no pun intended) and stick to more solid information.
