Its good. I respected he and the Comair group when they went through their strike and try to raise the bar for the industry. Sad that no one followed. The post strike contract there may indeed go down as the best contract ever to hit the regional industry.
However, I highly disagree with him and the MEC's stance regarding the hiring of furloughed pilots. They wanted any furloughed pilot who came over to CMR to give up their seniority number. Other airlines such as ASA and Pinnacle hired lots of furloughed guys during that time period with no requirement to resign from your previous carrier. He politicized a tragic event for thousands of guys. A loss for Comair would have been a preferential hiring system at Delta for their pilots. I'm sure a few guys would like that right now.
In short, he lost his way in my opinion. It is good the CMR pilot group gets a fresh start and great for the industry that someone who was in charge of an MEC and screw his fellow brothers is gone. Good riddance.

I have heard from many CMR guys that they felt he threw the entire pilot group under the bus and created a lot of the animosity between CMR and DL pilots today. I always wanted to fly for CMR and ultimately DL. But I was told by many DL pilots if I ever wanted a job there, to stay clear of CMR.

That was sage advice. I have only known of two CMR pilots hired this year vs. around 50+ from ASA, etc. To date around 270 regional guys have hired so far. That means that less than 1% have been from CMR. I believe as well he threw them under the bus for his own political ambitions within ALPA national. Unfortunately, the needs of the many did not outweigh the means of the few. A seven year FO with DAL now earns more than the most senior CMR Captain. Second year pay at DAL is better than 10 year Captain pay with CMR. I dare say the preferential hiring ability at CMR for DAL would probably be a great thing had it happened. If hiring continues on its projections, DAL will have hired 1000 guys by next year. At their rate, less then 5 guys will be from CMR vs. a much larger figure had the pref hiring been in place.
CMR guys have a wealth of experience and passion. They were held hostage by JC and the senior guys who couldn't see past their own arrogance. Sad.

You would think the professionalism of the Delta group would be able to see past this major blunder in judgement.
