ASA lowers mins to "NONE" with those who have a CRJ Course
#31
When I was hired, there was a guy in the class that had about 1700tt. 1550 of that time was helo time. So I guess it can be done. He was a great guy with a really good attitude.

Lbell et al, you guys aren't considering the fact that, while they may not have "posted mins," unless you a) have a CRJ course or b) have some significant IFR experience in a twin, you're probably not going to make it through the interview. Also, any 250 hour guy better hit the books hard, because ATP-level questions not from the ATP Gleim book are probably app killers.
Even PSA states their "competitive" mins are 600TT...they're just building app pools. Any 250 hr guys with no jet course who somehow pass the interview will probably get washed out of 121 groundschool (hopefully). Honestly, I don't think the average dude with 250 hours w/o jet training/sim experience will make it. I hope not.

To make some of you guys feel better, I applied to quite a number of regionals and had my resume walked in to several. (even the ones hiring at commercial multi) I have about 300tt and 70 multi. I am still going to instruct, but just wanted to see what would happen if I actually got a call.
Guess what? I have not heard a thing from anyone except for airnet. I take that back, several came back with an e-mail and told me to get some more time. So i guess they are not hiring everyone at 300tt.
I thought I'd just throw that out there.

The original post (including header) specifically stated "....with those who have a CRJ Course".......
