The majority of ex-military airline pilots aren't like that at all...they got out, remember? The real power-hungry types stick around to collect their stars.

I Jumpseated home after Christmas the other day in Khaki's, a tucked-in Polo, and sneakers...I was up-front and the CA couldn't help a little good-natured jabbing at my "tennis shoes," as he called them (a Chicago thing). Didn't look sloppy, and I'm all about looking sharp - but I'm not going to carry another pair of shoes/boots just to Jumpseat in...
We can tell that you are all about looking-sharp, based on your sneaker Wearing, Capitalization and Grammer-Skill's.
I would have said the same thing if I was that captain. Humor is a rubber sword.

The CA had probably just watched another rerun of his all time favorite on his layover, and so was all primed to break out the inquisition on the next presumed "airline pilot guy" impersonator that tried to hop a free ride to MIA (or wherever you were heading).

Well call me what you'd lile then, my friend - you're not hurtin' my feelings LoL! Gifts for my family take priority in my rollaboard over a spare pair of shoes any day of the week, and twice on Tuesday. Oh, and you're right! My grammar is nearly unreadable

Good idea. I think I'm going to start taking a wagon filled with gallons of water through security just to make out-of-uniform people jealous.
