Thanks for the info Juice. Believe it or not, those 2-3 leggr's and standup lines actually wouldn't be that bad for me, neither would reserve (long story, too tired to explain right now). Out and back would also be great, it would enable me to spend more time with my family. If I decided to go Colgan, IAH would have to be the only option, I am not going to the N.E.

Know its kind of off topic, but I was curious as to when the first flight in the Q would be, anyone know? Also have any of the lines been posted yet?

If that is how you feel about Colgan, I think you should probably forgo it. If that is how you feel about airline flying in general (not willing/able to take a domicile outside of Texas), you might want to consider another line of work.

I'm not trying to post flame bait here, just relaying what I've read here over and over again. Being able to be based in EWR was a very strong positive for me, but it was certainly not the be-all and end-all.

The lines haven't been posted, but I've heard 2/4 as a tentative starting date.

I agree, flexability is what this job is about. This is far from the M-F 9-5 many of our friends have. I wanted a Texas base with Colgan and they told me during the interview they could not promise Texas from the start. I realized this and had to do 4 months in the northeast. It was not that bad, got to fly in some new areas and got to associate myself the ins and out of LGA, DCA, IAD and so on. Remember you may get upgraded and sent to any base and it is always a good idea to have seen it as a FO rather than as a CA for the first time with a rook FO next to you.

Thank you for the advise, but that consideration is not needed. I can and will be flexible for an employer, but I am not uprooting my wife and kids, for a $21/ hour FO position. There are many employers who understand and appreciate that. If the opportunity is not available with Colgan, then I will politely decline the offer. Colgan is one of many options for me, one I just wanted further information on.

Computerguy and Juice, thank you again for your information, it is appreciated.

Arrow75,
You are right to put your family and your goals first. You will get IAH if you want it, however you might have to commute a month or two. It all depends of course on Colgan's needs.

FWIW, the only month I was actually happy at Colgan was when I was TDY in IAH. It was like working for a "real" airline.

Ahh.. memories of DRT overnights . I miss seeing W.D. from Del Rio, what a pretty young lady.

Kilo you and I may disagree on many things but not about those DRT FA's...this is why I love IAH!
