SkyWest to buy Comair?

Read it on another forum and ironically, had SKYW training captain mention it while in the jumpseat recently on one of their CR7's.

Said it was to secure more Delta flying. I think it'd be a definate win-win for SKYW and CMR.

We were always taught in business school never to have an increasing share of a decreasing market. Comair has A LOT of CRJ200's. I'm not sure if that is the fleet makeup SKW wants.

Delta will never sell to Skywest because they will not allow one airline to control most of the Delta Connection flying.

What is the makeup of delta regional flying? like what percentage does SkyWest/ASA have, comair, RAH? so on and so forth?

Oh Merit, you're such a gossiper! You're worse than mechanics!:D

No way dude! That would be a silly game for SKW to play, and besides, Mama D wouldn't let it happen...

I can sum up my reaction to this post in one word:

"HA!"

Is this the same skywest captain that said skywest was at a 6 year upgrade? No offense to CMR people but why would skywest want comair? Their fleet is made up of about 80% of those old crj200s that are a dying breed.

How is that offensive? It's the truth.

Not that I would believe this rumor for an instant, but Comair being mostly CRJ100/200s is a reason to buy......opportunity for growth

Comair does not equal growth, any way you cut the cake.
