Always interested how that worked.
The codeshare you fly is based on the trips in that base. For example, Republic guys based in DEN only fly F9 trips because that's all that they build lines there for. Guys for Shuttle that are based in CMH could fly a trip for UAL then start another trip for DAL the next day. Each pairing is codeshare specific (i.e. you only fly for one codeshare per pairing) but with multiple pairings being used to create your monthly schedule, you could end up flying for multiple codeshares. My record for one month was 4 (AA, DAL, US, and UAL) on the 145.
To the original poster - I have been pretty happy here despite the whole commuting thing. If I had to pick any one thing I dislike about my job, that would be it. The money has been good enough for my single self to develop a savings and live comfortably (despite the fact that it was on 1st and now 2nd year FO pay), I haven't had too many run-ins with scheduling, and I've gotten along with everyone I've flown with with one single exception. Some people get here and love it...others get here and hate it. I guess it all depends on your personal situation. However, even the people that do complain about working here still like their job.
