and what cracks me up, is that people from the "scab" airline talk about how pilots of another group need to come together and demand better pay and rules.

Sorry if that didn't make sense, did in my head for some reason, could be all the drinks. Just saying that regional pay/rules won't get better because there will always be another airline that will do it for cheaper, and pilots of that airline will go along with it to secure more flying...

could also learn to simply edit your posts instead of making new ones drunk guy....Doubt to see 14 airplanes at TSA, we've got a couple coming, but not much. And i'd hope skywest wasn't as dumb as TSA was when we thought we had continental flying, only to lose it to chautauqua, and get the joy of furloughs as a result, hopefully they weren't ramping up over there for the same reason, and i'd find it doubtful.

As far as lateral moves go, if living in your domicile is your reason, then ok, whatever. It'd have made more sense to simply find another route to get to the airline that was where you wanted to live however as opposed to making a jump, but when a person's ultimate goals is to get out of the regionals, jumping from company to company, chasing some magical combination of "perfect" isn't the smartest move, if you by luck and chance end up having to make a move, and end up somewhere better, totally understandable, but it doesn't make much sense to me otherwise.

Hey if you have the time and resources to run from regional to regional to chase an upgrade then more power to you...

The whole career is about taking risks. If you are not willing to take a risk, you need to accept where you are and be happy with it. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't.

I left what I thought was a great company flying great schedules to upgrade quicker. I left after 1.5 yrs, and not long after I was hired, the hiring stopped. Upgrades quit and everthing stagnated, but luckily not for very long. I still upgraded at a year, and have been a captain for almost a 1.5 years, and have a class date at a legacy.

I fly with a lot of F/O's who won't upgrade when they first can, because of QOL or they don't want to fly a turbo-prop. My advice to them is always the same. Position yourself where you want to be when the music stops. If QOL at this point in your career is what you want, that is great. If you want to move onto bigger and better, do what you can to upgrade, even if it is a turbo-prop.

Sorry, which "scab" airline are you refering to? I'm having trouble following your line here.
