Default PNCL interview

So, I just got the email for an interview. I know right now everything is speculation BUT...anyone have any thoughts on what may happen to PNCL if a merger were to take place? I know there would be potential base closures but what would happen to PNCL? As I said, I know it is all speculation right now but I am very excited to have an interview and it would suck to get in and then have something happen just to leave and be back in the job hunt. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Also, anyone have any advise on the interview itself or heads up on it. Thanks again in advance.......

Only God knows... go for the experience, the rest will take time to play out. Between a pilot contract and a merger things are REALLY up in the air.

The merger will likely have little negative effect, and could end up being a positive. 9E's service agreements with NWA & Delta are 10-year agreements. Any reduction in regional flying will likely come out of the other 8 regionals serving NWA or Delta. All current NWA hubs apparently will remain as hubs.

The contract, however, is another matter. Pilots are overwhelmingly approved a strike vote. Negotiations have been dragging for on a long time. On the other hand, if and when a new contract is signed, life will likely be significantly improved here, including second and third year FO pay.

At least go for the interview experience- don't burn the bridge. With this industry you never know what can happen. Since 9E is the only non wholly owned regional of NWA they may get a contract if a merger is announced to try and attract more flying, or it could be another 3 years. Who knows, but the interview experience is definately worth your time.

Even if pinnacle only had 1 plane, we would still be understaffed, dont worry about it. If this is the place you want to come you will ok

I would advise you not to go to Pinnacle. One of the worst managements in the business. They don't care at ALL about the pilots or ANY employee. They are GREEDY RATS

Better choice would be Mesaba or Compass if you live in MSP,DTW, or MEM. I would recommend Compass!

What is the upgrade time these days? I know at one time it was fairly quick. Has the pending chaos slowed things down?

They keep sending out letters to the FOs trying to inventory how many hours they have. With the continuing Captain shortage if you are able and willing + not *extremely* mentally challenged....you can upgrade.
