Default Eagle's RJ familiarzation course

I got hired in December with 540TT and 55 ME with a May start date pending I graduate from my college and that I have 100 ME.

Right now I'm up to 650 and just under 100 multi...by May I should have well over 100 ME and 800 TT...is it likely that I'll still have to do this familiarization course?

Yes. If hired by Eagle with less than 800TT, you must take the RJ course compliments of Eagle.

Seems like a good deal to me. A pre-ground school ground school paid by the company. Guess you don't get paid during the course, which would be a down side.

I think it would be a very good idea to take the course, especially if Eagle is paying for it. Any exposure you can get to the airplane before ground school will be beneficial. Just knowing the cockpit layout and the basics of some of the systems will give you an edge in the "real" groundschool and sims. My advice is to take the course if they offer it. Good Luck!

Is there a job guarantee if you go to the training course? I know they require an 18month training contract if you complete the course, but do you have to sign it before you get offered an official job with AE?

It's a good question. I would assume you wouldn't have to take it. I would definitely contact them when you hit 800. Although the RJ course would be nice, I would rather get out of that training contract.

I understand that it would be good for me to get exposure to the aircraft before ground school and I am no way ahead of or smarter than the next guy. I'm just concerned about getting paid during it and also during my "hiring process" nothing was mentioned about it. A few guys in my group had to do it, so I'm just really wondering if I'm all set or is there something eagle has yet to tell me.
