They are reducing PHL flying. That is what I was told by a buddy of mine. Most pilots I have been told dont think onr of the new bases will be PHL.

Trying to help.....

Besides, who needs a new base when there is the awesome Dayton?

As of today, there are 10 FO openings in CLT. I have my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed.

Hey, PM are you really on here at 3am?
I thought TYS was the place to be? haha
I want CLT but no one has gotten that since the August class so i don't see that happening anytime soon.

They have taken a break on interviews for a couple of weeks. I spoke with Lisa who would be the one to send you an e-mail to invite you to the interview and she said it might be the 10th before they start contacting people to come to the interview. But there will be one again march 25th. If you know Will pretty good have him make some calls. Will is a real good guy. And sorry AlaskaOps had a bad day.

Hey RickB...I wouldn't worry too much. The training dept. is currently working hard to get 30 captain upgrades through training and CA IOE, in addition to training monthly new hire classes and 700 differences classes (about 15 per class for differences). All this training places a high demand on the resources of the check airmen and sim time, so a temporary slow down in hiring makes sense for the time being. I'm sure as soon as the CA upgrades and current new hires get through the sims and IOE, hiring will resume. I don't fly a week without hearing of another CA leaving for a major/legacy/LCC or corporate gig...we need pilots and hiring is the only way to get them Sit tight and I'm sure you'll hear from someone soon.

Default New Base

In a weekly meeting with the CEO he said that the company (PSA) was looking into new bases. CAK wouldn't make any difference for the company. CAE the same. PHL...not going to happen. PIT...Ya sure. MCO...uhhh no. He also went on to say that it was the unions fault we aren't flying the 900's. I believe it is managements greed that ended that deal. We can't even staff the 200's we have, so there is a 0% chance of getting the 900's any time soon. Good news is that there is a lot of movement. Lots of upgrades and lots of PSA Captains moving on to bigger and better things. Hotels are getting better. life is improving because of the current MEC. Before you come to PSA just make sure you can walk and chew gum at the same time. The biggest complaint i hear from Captains is that the new F/O's seem to know everything. A lot of us have a background of flight instructing, 135 and other airlines jobs before coming here. Many with over 10,000hrs. You can learn a lot from them. Come with an open mind and come prepared to learn every day you are on the line. If you don't you might be finding yourself fighting for your job.

Thanks for the info. March and April are going to be the slowest 2 months of my life, May can't come soon enough.
