I wasnt here for block or better on a per leg basis but I havent seen a problem yet as far as block or better for the day and I guess I do not see the difference, it just means that I have to check one total at the end of my day instead of one for each leg I fly.

I have not gotten the email you mentioned but I did see the memo that came out that was the most anti union propaganda letter I have ever seen. It was almost entirely why alpa is evil and wants to put us on the streets and did not really touch upon the real topic at hand.

speaking of the drive....can we vote in August or can the drive not start until August?

Seriously?
Let's say it's the go-home day of the trip, and you're scheduled to work four legs:
Leg one overblocks by 10 minutes
Leg two overblocks by 10 minutes
Leg three overblocks by nine minutes.
Let four underblocks by 30 minutes (it's go-home leg with a headwind!).
With per-leg block or better, you make 29 minutes of pay on the day.
With per-day block or better, you make NO EXTRA PAY on that day, yet you have to work the same length of time.

Hmmm. I worked there in 05-07 and it was block or better by the day the whole time I was there???

By the leg makes a HUGE difference, can be several hours of credit over the course of a month!

I don't miss that place at all, vote ALPA!!!!

The best example is having a weather delay where you sit on the ground for an hour. So you are +1 hour. Now you spend the entire day trying to catch back up so the rest of your flights are early which eats up the entire extra hour you made in the morning. If it was per leg then that +1 is protected no matter what happens the rest of the day.

That's why you don't waste your money and effort trying to catch back up.

just remember, anything you guys are getting such as "commuter clause" is on the back of ALPA PILOTS that FOUGHT FOR IT.

Thank an ALPA pilot, and make sure you guys vote in a Union this time around, I dont care if tis the UNION OF TIRED & ABUSED COLGAN PILOTS". There are a lot of great guys there, no reason to not make it a much better place to work

Well said SAAB, I say we try for the "United Quilters of America" or "Aircraft Lavatory Dumpers Association" anything is better than B.C. and the gang.

Hopefully the eventual Pinnacolgan integration will not kill any effort towards a union push.

I fear that many will expect to be union after the two lists are combined anyways and not worry about bringing one on property when it is inevitable.

How would that work if Colgan pilots voted in ALPA after the arbitration decision has been made but before the fences are put up? Are they entitled to representation by a union or is it retroactive to the day the decision was made?
