Future Successful CRJ regionals

Hello all, just curious, what do you think will be the future of top CRJ regional airlines? As of now it seems that most regionals are slowing hiring quite considerably and I am right around 450 hours looking to sneak in before this hiring boom slows even more... PSA and ASA are my best bets so far... I'd loooove to commute from Charlotte what would be some other good options?

Thanks for all the help and tips

and no flamers

Must agree with Shaun.... ASA has basically stopped hiring.... as I understand it so I may be wrong.... and PSA is hiring..... although out of the 17 that interviewed the same day I did I know of only four who were hired.... all in excess of 700 hours and all but one had turbine experience.... I am not trying to be a downer... go for it but be ready for the worst.

Eagle can't hire enough people. I'd also suggest looking at Air Wisconsin if you want Charlotte.

That's a good move, but for AWAC not having a CLT base he'd have to try for a commute to ORF but he'd likely get stuck with a commute to RDU (may not be that bad) or more likely, LGA.

whoops. I thought they had a CLT base.

PSA has a CLT base. AWAC has ORF, DCA and PHL. We will have RDU and LGA soon. But everything is moving and trying to hit a moving target is never easy.

I actually think AWAC is poised to be a player for a while. Among other things, they are not up to their eyeballs in debt.

BTW, the commute to any of the current or future AWAC bases would probably not be that tough. There are a lot of flights on all those routes and RDU would be drivable.

I don't care where you are or what you're doing, 2008 is going to be a bad year to be at the bottom of ANYONE'S seniority list. Whether its a major/legacy/national carrier or 50 seat regional carrier, 2008 is not going to be pretty, IMHO. If I were you, I'd stick it out with a good instructing gig and wait to surf in on the next wave. You'll probably make more money and enjoy a better life style than you will clinging to the bottom of a seniority list on reserve.
