For all our sake I really hope not. Hopefully you guys will get a decent contract before it comes to that.

So do I matlock. Nobody wants a strike but we're ready to walk if we have to. A release may not be imminent but the notion that we will never be released is false. It may take longer than we'd like but if management keeps dragging their feet, we will eventually be released whether that happens during this administration or the next... And when we get a contract it better be a good contract, not just decent.

Now back to the original post, the ATL flying all depends on what kind of trips you like. Personally, deadheading down to the islands to turn around and fly back the same day sounds miserable. I'd prefer to fly my regular 200 trips, jumpseat down there when I'm done and support the local rum producers for a couple days...

Pinnacle and SKYW are taking over these routes from ASA because we do not have 1st class seating in our 700's.

Being strong, united and willing to walk right now is one thing. But when you're looking down the barrel of that gun, it's a completely different ball game. But what do I know, I've never been there, because I don't know what I'm talking about... right Airsupport?

The most surreal part of my time at Mesaba (except finding out we were in Ch11) was the night before our strike deadline and how ghostly quiet DTW was that night. The mood was somber, yet fearful. Would we have jobs tomorrow? Would we be holding signs for real this time?

Again... talking the talk now is one thing. Being faced with the TRUE realities of a strike are completely different.

Best of luck to all the PCL pilots out there, lord knows you guys need a new contract now! Despite how great Airsupport has it.

He is right, even with our 99% vote, there is no way we get released. ASA was in talks for 5 years we are entering year 4 right now. As soon as Management actually needs a contract we will get one, until then nothing unfourtunately

Actually 89 days in 2001!! ALPA called it their most successful strike. Returned to work shortly before 9/11. Had we still been on strike during 9/11, things would have been drastically different. It's probable that their wouldn't have been a Comair anymore.
