I was reffering to the fact that MAG might screw over some pilots and then tell the union to go ahead and file a grievence, by the time it is finally resolved mesa has probably gone under. And Mesa started freedom specifically to whipsaw pilot groups, in violation of their contract.
RLA gives managament way to much power, we need a more balanced document.

Personally I suspect management would come out ahead, not much public sympathy for us greedy, underworked, millionaire RJ drivers. And even if labor did get a favorable bill, it would just get vetoed.

Interestingly enough, his son is at American. Mainline. I would imagine McCain's election would prompt his retirement. Who knows...

I'm going to both save and print that one out. And if you want to call me out, here's the proof first: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/ar...the_limelight/

I don't think it really matters who's in office. None of the politicians have the integrity to side with a legitimate labor dispute and allow airline pilots to strike when it means some trailer trash fat guy might not get to Cancun on time.
That said, all we can hope is it's not going to be John, I hate airline pilots, McCain giving airline pilots the finger from the White House.

Great topic. YOU, yes you, can start with the National Mediation Board at 202-692-5000 or Wage & Hour Division Department of labor at 513-684 2908 (www.dol.gov/esa/whd). Then again they may direct you to your very own union that agreed to the embarassing wages you earn.

Also, do you really think ALPA wants any of their pilot group to strike? Do you know how much it would cost them to pay you while you strike, they are not going to do that, they like to keep the status quo. I was speaking to an ALPA Capt while jumpseating and this was his opinion which seems very logical.
Unfortunately, we basically have our hands tied up with this RLA and since no president is going to touch this thing, remember the misconception by the average joe, that we pilots are like uncle scrooge and have a vault full of money that we swim in each afternoon.
, there is very little that can be done, I always make it a point to let the passengers that I sit next to know how much I really make.
I think the first strategy to win this is to first have the media educate the public about what management has done to us pilots and the wages/hours we work under, then this would create momentum that ALPA can use and combined with a labor friendly president, perhaps something can come from it.

The Major Contingency Fund (MCF) is already set up and funded for things of that nature...
