The airline industry is a small one, and getting even smaller by the day.
The pilot you kicked out of the crewroom today, might be the one interviewing you tomorrow. Regardless, you never know who is listening or watching.
Hanging out and talking with other crews is one thing, Sleeping is another story and that is what I was pointing out.
I would hope it wouldnt come down to kicking someone out.
One more question is how can your company have a base in EWR and they have no crew room set up for you? That is the lowest level of QOL.

Not really, not until you guys stop doing our already low paying jobs for less. I hope that all non-union Q400 crews in EWR realize this. I haven't met a XJT person yet that is excited about being undercut.

Next up you guys wanna sleaze around our crew rooms because your employer is too cheap to give you guys one.

so if we got paid the same but we still got the contract because the airplane is very efficent and prob saves a ton of fuel would it still be undercutting?

While I agree with a lot of what you say, it is CAL's flying they are taking not ours...........

how do you think XJT got in the rj business? IT sure wasn't by getting rid of your old 120's and picking up e-jets with an industry leading contract. Undercutting skywest comes to mind.........

I'm not going to argue that the RJ is more fuel efficient than the Q400. It isn't.

You should be getting paid more than us to fly a larger aircraft. I don't care what kind of engines it has, it's the revenue it produces.

You guys got the contract because Continental found cheaper pilots to fly larger, more fuel efficient airplanes. ExpressJet pilots wouldnt have taken that flying at the rates and work rules you guys ***** around with.

Should a NWA DC-9 crew make less because their aircraft is inefficient? What logic you have!

They arent taking flying, CAL assigns it. Chuck didn't walk up to Jim and steal it. You know that..... hahah. They are replacing the 50 seat routes with 74 seat routes, at a lower salary.

Colgan do you guys get per diem on day trips like the rest of the profession? I bet it would be nice to have money to buy food to eat in your EWR crew room. Oh, wait.

You totally missed my point I'm saying that we got the contract because the plane is cheaper to operate that's why cal wanted it. Yeah us getting paid less helps with that but with 100 dollar oil even if we got paid more (which we should) the plane would still be cheaper and that's why we got the flying. Also traditionally turboprop pilots get paid less for the same size aircraft as a jet. I do think that is wrong because turboprop seats don't cost less for the pax but that's the history. See my point now?
