Yeah us getting paid less helps with that but with 100 dollar oil even if we got paid more (which we should) the plane would still be cheaper and that's why we got the flying. Also traditionally turboprop pilots get paid less for the same size aircraft as a jet. I do think that is wrong because turboprop seats don't cost less for the pax but that's the history. See my point now?

I think it is funny you try to make N2 realize your point. He will never take stance other than Colgan sucks. Why do you waste your time like he is going to say "Oh, you are right." Read his past posts and you will see he has issues and is negative about everything.

I second that thought, some people just like to criticize and blame other people/companies for their own misfortunes. Your not gonna get anywhere with someone with a crappy attitude.

I know that CAL wanted the Q400. They wanted to give it to cheap bottom feeding pilots too, and so you won.

Some people may say I have a bad attitude. I really don't. I just want people to realize that they are not helping our profession by working for Colgan/Mesa/Go Jet/etc.

We are expected to act like professionals, to work like professionals, yet we are not paid like professionals because there is always someone willing to do our job for less. We've gotta stop this.

.

Have you ever considered that not everyone gets an invitation to fly for XJT? Maybe those who were not blessed and anointed, should just go home? or quit flying?

I shall fall on my sword for the good of aviation!

At least Colgan doesn't fly main line routes.

When I started back at Colgan in 2004, we had just got the contract to fly the Saabs down in IAH for Continental. Expressjet guys, and others, were calling us bottom-feeders back then too. I do think you are a little out-of-line calling Colgan the same as a Mesa or Go Jet. Colgan was not created as an Alter-Ego carrier, Colgan was purchased and expanded into a viable market.

I do agree with your point about the Q400 though, when I was there I never bid to fly the Q400 because I could not personally justify flying a 74-seat aircraft for less than 50-seat RJ pay. I never had any issues with people who flew the Q400, I just personally didn't agree. I would have liked to have seen alot more people turn down a Q400 slot.

My point is there are a lot of good people/pilots who work at Colgan, it really isn't fair to dump on the entire company and all those who work there just because they took over some of your routes.

fellas we all sound like a bunch of little girls. CAL pawns off their flying as they see fit. Colgan is a lot cheaper, one reason is, they don't pay their pilots that much and their lack of contract enables them to use their pilots in a way that costs the company very little. Outstation basing is a way of cutting costs, as well as no domicile rest requirements so on and so forth. It is what is, the urinating matches we have are not accomplishing anything.

This is not a dig at Colgan, it is what is...........Colgan is cheaper, the Q uses less gas, blah blah blah

Did you not see the judge ruling Colgan as a alter-ego under Pinnacle inc?

Arbitrator rules Pinnacle Airlines Corp. and Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. functioned as alter egos to sidestep pilots’ contract

Pinnacle pilot profits bought you guys those airplanes. Did you forget?
XJT might as well buy Republic some E175s and call it good if you think that is fair and just.

You guys should be stapled.

You guys think that Saab and I are off our rocker. We think you guys are for working for crap companies. XJT is not high on the horse, we just respect the profession a bit more than you.

Look I don't work at Colgan anymore so I could careless to continue this. Best of luck N2, with your attitude you got a long career ahead of you.
