It's a sad day for commuters everywhere at AWAC. I'm just lucky I live about 20 minutes from RDU

Hopefully I get a decent schedule for May, but then again I'm around #5 reserve in RDU...

When was your hire date IFly85? I was hired back in september 07, and I am around 3 or 4 from the bottom of the line holders in RDU.

I heard that the lines in every domicile will suck until the new bases are fully staffed. I go to LGA in June and I'm praying that the lines are a little better then. The May lines are horrid! Being on reserve in May isn't looking so bad........

Haha yeah that was me. Were you the one stuck on reserve in RDU before the base even opened?

here's a question for the AWAC'ers... On average, how long does a new hire sit reserve? Also, do you have any say in your domicile when you get hired? For instance, I live just south of RDU. Would a new hire get RDU? or would they be stuck in LGA?

The last new hire class for pilots (723-731 senority#) dated 4/7 was...
725,28,29,31 to ORF
726,27,30 to LGA
723,24 to RDU (most senior in that class )

You might get LGA for a few months, at most and then be able to get RDU. And you might get it right off the bat, especially if you were willing to bid RDU Reserve ahead of line positions elsewhere. Most folks bit line positions as their top choice, but if you are willing to accept a reserve slot in RDU I am willing to bet that you'd get it right out of training.
