AWAC Schedules for May
#1
So have any other AWAC'ers noticed how bad the schedules suck next month? I figured LGA and RDU opening could only hurt things, but I didn't think it would be this bad...
Apparently AWAC has joined the race to bottom... I am very discouraged

They just keep getting worse and worse. They are terrible because they are mainly 1 and 2 day trips or 2 day backed up by 3 days that aren't commutable on either end. I saw one line in LGA that has 9 one day trips and also a 2 day with a 3 day backed up to each other......hope the poor soul that gets that line lives right by LGA. This is really getting out of hand.

Whats the deal with 5 day sequences with only 2 days off after. I know in the contract it says after a 4 day trip we must have 3 days off. Its crappy that on 2 back with 3 days they think people are actually home a night.

They suck so bad, I can't wait to see how bad my month is going to be, being the 10th line holder from the bottom sucks in PHL. Hey how I find out what the lines look like for LGA or RDU or anyother base for that matter?

Of all the lines in ORF that have back to back pairings (2+3, 2+2,...etc) I have yet to find even one sequence that is commutable one either side. The last 4 months in ORF my lines have been commutable on at least one side... this is getting stupid. Of the 48 lines in ORF next month only 12 of them don't have back to back pairings.

I know I'm in the minority here, but living in domicile I actually like the 2 and 3 day trips. I have all 3 day trips this month with no four days and I love having the extra night at home.
Oh well, just one man's opinion.

The company may be saving a buck, but it is as if they are jumping over our dollars to save themselves a mere penny. I am all about an efficiently run business and being part of a winning team, but what if any sacrifices are they making up in toon-town (Appleton WI) to make us more competitive?

The problem is that the vast majority of the company commutes and management knows this. These schedules are very anti-labor... a ****ing contest if you will. The schedules are also relatively low credit such as a 2 days followed by another 2 days worth only 17 hours. Some are better than others, but all are bad for commuters. I agree with you that living in base would make these schedules a bit more desirable.
