Default Have ya flown w/ Captain "You've got arms, doncha?"

First leg together, I'm the first officer PF, he's pilot reading the paper or PRP.

PF: Rotate, "positive rate, gear up"

PRP: "You've got arms, doncha?"

PF: I put the gear handle up.

This repeats for all aspects of the flight (flaps, etc).

Anybody else??

Not to sound like the grumpy old hardass, but how about flying the leg then calling crew scheduling and your CP to let them know why you will not be on the return leg?

How much use is the PRP going to be if you lose one at rotation? How much professionalism is he displaying to his FO's, some of whom in today's world of 300 hour wonders will undoubtedly think he is a funny guy, and will one day attempt to emulate him.

There's already enough negative press out there at the moment without guys with this level of professionalism setting the industry up for more negative reporting.

I guess in perspective it's better than micro-management... man that's irritating! I'll work my own switches, flaps, gear.... don't look at me weird if I decide, you know what? I can push the AP button with great success WHILE handflying, oh boy!

But no, seriously if he's going to do that he needs to brief you on it, not tell you that at 50'
