Default A few questions about Republic

Hello,

New to the site. I am leaving the mesa to head over to Republic here real soon I hope. Both my girlfriend and I are F/Os here but dont care to stick around till the end or put up with the crap anymore. So instead of writing up a storm here we are just going to move to someplace better.

Any way. What do you Republic pilots like about your company, what dont you like?

Is DCA a junior base. If so How much so. I have lived in the area for 15 years and would like to keep doing so if possible. What are my chances of getting DCA if they offer the job.

Any tips for the interview.

Thanks a bunch for the help.

Nate

First off congrats about leaving Mesa. Your life will dramatically improve I promise you. DCA you can hold soon if not right off the bat but word is that it is shrinking a bit. We seem to be growing CMH and shrinking DCA for the time being. Tell the interviewers that you live in DCA w/o asking for the 170/175 they will get the hint. Life will be much better even if you lose money from second year pay at Mesa back to first here. We are growing like mad and Mesa is a sinking ship. No Jr assign, BLOCK or Better...great pilot group, new planes (175's) average 14 days off. We are in contract negotiations to make a good contract great. Interview was all "tell me about a time when.....& get to know you questions." Like all other regionals it has issues but all around not a bad place to hang your hat for a while esspecially if you live in base.

I'm one of the many that have done the Mesa to RAH switch. There is no reason to even think about it at this point. Just do it... you will get your life back. Even with a two leg commute to reserve in CRP I was home more than I was at Mesa living in base. Now I live in base and hold a line with 14-16 days off a month.

I already have a house there and its paid for from a preveous job. So may as well keep living there till the housing market picks back up.

For pilots you guys are really ignorant sometimes. "Fixing to" is a southern expression commonly used in Texas. Furthermore, what's wrong with living in DC? There's good and bad points of living in every town and city in the US. Why not answer the guy's question instead?
