This is your signature... it will be on ever post you make. Surely you were not in that big of a rush to type your signature?

Sorry if it seems stupid but, come on!
What a nerd.

If majors arent hiring at all- which might be the case with consolidation- you're gonna be stuck where you are for a long while no matter what.
That's the most ridiculous statement ever. I personally know numerous guys from Colgan that got hired at both Southwest and UPS. I don't know where you got that info, but clearly you don't know what you're talking about there.

I agree with the rest of what you posted, but turbine PIC is turbine PIC.

As far as whether Eagle's a good choice, that's up to your individual considerations. Depends on where you live, how old you are, and what's most important to you. Eagle's a great company with a solid contract, but slow upgrade historically. But upgrades can change in a flash. They could go to a 2 year upgrade overnight, given the right circumstances.

Don't choose your job based soley on upgrade times or you'll be sorely disappointed.

You will get to upgrade first. However...as soon as the lowtimer get's the time he needs to upgrade, he will be senior to you as a CA. This means that you will bid junior for a longer period of time, and your QOL may suffer.

But if the music stops, you are at least a CA, making more money and getting PIC. The low-timer will be stuck as an FO. Better to take the upgrade for most folks.

Eagle is not a bad place to be. I think that we have one of the largest forecasts for hiring right now. That is important because in the current industry state, you can plan on being at a regional for a few years. If you get on with Eagle right now, you will have a few hundred guys below you in a matter of months. Furlough protection. There is uncertainty at every regional, and Eagle is not to be excluded. Regardless of where you go, there will be people saying that the sky is falling. All you can really do is try to differentiate the facts from the emotions and hope for good luck! When I was hired at Eagle, almost 2 years ago, Express Jet was the place to be. Its amazing how dynamic the industry is. Things change quickly and unexpectedly.

Go interview there if they offer it to you, at least you'll get that experience. If your qol will be good with the job, well yeah the money and upgrade sucks, but you will enjoy your time off. Work there and get some experience while you wait and look for something better to come along, I don't think there is any contract there so you wouldn't be bound.
