Default I can't decide.....

Why does every low time pilot think life begins and ends with a regional? Even if you do get on with the best regional (if there is such a thing) your "QOL" will still probably suck to some extent. I'm seriously about as low-time as you can get, and I fully expect to work my tail off IF I get a job. It just gets really annoying hearing everyone whine about which regional will have the best "QOL" and upgrade. Everyone who is stuck in the mud becuase they think life will be easy are the one's who eventually come on here and complain because they aren't making a million dollars and working 5 days a month as an FO.

Your QOL is what you make it. Did you honestly think you were gonna hop in a 777 first day out of graduation and make $300,000? You're gonna have to suck it up and pay your dues, which are much easier than that of an FO 5-10 years ago. You should feel fortunate to even have the opportunity to get the job with such low hours....I know I do. How else are you suppose to experience life and become a better pilot without paying dues?

Quite whining and complaining. Even if you do get on with a regional with good QOL, you won't upgrade fast and will be sitting at that same salary, or close to it, for years. If you start lower and get paid less, chances are you'll upgrade quicker and move on and make more money and be further down the road in the long run. It's not rocket science. Consider yourself lucky for having the opportunity....don't whine and boggle your mind becuase you can't decide WHICH ONE as opposed to ANY that will make life just a tiny bit more easy.

Take whatever you can get and learn from there. Enough with the whining. You're a pilot for Christ's Sake.

Actually I think having those arguments here helps alot of guys decide where they want to go. I think its good to hear the pros and cons of a company from people who actually work there. If nobody came on these boards to complain or gloat, we would know alot less about the companies we work for.

If your annoyed, quit reading posts. Simple fix.

Just saying It's for the people in my boat who don't have a grasp on reality. I'm saying it's going to be hard either way. So I don't understand why some current FO's get mad.....One man's opinion....take it with a grain of salt, I'm nobody special...

I'm not saying those arguments aren't helpful, they just get old when the same advice is prescribed each time.

That is exactly the problem is you don't know what its like. The QOL sucks when you first start. Some people might make things seem a little worse then they are but unless you have a lot of money you will struggle when you first start at. Living paycheck to paycheck and getting screwed gets old quick.

Did you ever stop and think there might be a reason for that?

This reminds me of the guys that come here and say "should I goto (insert bottomfeeder)" and everyone 'prescribes the same advice'.

The person goes anyway, thinking there is some kind of APC conspiracy to mislead, and in 6 months comes back and btches about how he hates his life.

Because for many pilots, it does. You don't know what life is going to throw at you in these few years when you're at a regional, but believe me, your outlook will be changed in the time that you work there, wherever it may be.

I'm a positive guy, but this is no excuse to accept subpar treatment for 5 years while you "pay your dues" flying pax around the country.

What seems to be the right decision for you is not right for everyone. Your argument here is no better than the guy that thinks his life "begins and ends with QOL at a regional."
