Holy CRAP.......26K for something the airlines pay you to do. How long has this been going on? Do they lower the requirements for jet U guys?

I am waiting to hear the stories that will come when CA's start removing the FD's from these guys for TO. I love the freedom!

I really don't hate the guys that did Jet-U and equivalent. Frankly if I was in their position it would be tempting. I instructed and used my commercial to fly odd-jobs and got my time and personally feel it made me a better pilot (although mooney will prob say otherwise...lol:eek:). The problem I have is the mentality that some of the guys walk around with... "I should have already upgraded- 2K hours is ridiculous, the FAA only requires 1500." I learn something EVERY flight and as I get more experience it seems I only learn more and more. Sure, I feel I could have upgraded at 1500TT, but actually going at 2500TT will not bother me in the least.

Overall most guys are cool and you can't tell a "Jet U" guy from an instructor until you start asking the "what were you doing before this" questions, but there are a handful that seem to think that going to Jet U is like having a shuttle landing on the resume.
