It is because there is nowhere to go. I have talked to I cant even tell you how many captains that cant wait to leave but they have been having their interviews cancelled or there is just no one hiring. All of the senior captains with 3000+ TPIC are kicking themselves now because they should have left when the going was good a year or so ago.

thats funny, at Colgan they are considered "senior", whats senior at Colgan 4 years?

Mostly 8 and 7 years for the ones I am talking about.

Jesus, why would anyone stay at COLGAN for that long???????????????

Because in the past, half of these guys had the chief pilots, director of ops and everyone else who was anyone at Colgan on speed dial. If they wanted days off, favors or anything you can imagine done they just called their "buddies" and it was taken care of. That has changed to a point where it is now nearly non existent so they are seeing their QOL drop and are no longer feeling the love. From what I have heard from the more senior group the QOL was through the roof for the guys who lived in base and had all of their little "ins" with the company. I have only been here since September but overall I would say morale is terribly low on the CAL side on the east coast. I have had better days here but a bad day at a regional beats a great day overseas.

The morale is low on the CAL side, because its CAL. I like the Pilots, but the Gate Agents and the F/A's and the rampers are the most UNPROFESSIONAL RUDE, OBNOXIOUS SOB's out there in the airline world. Even my fellow CHQ buddies who are doing the CAL flying noticed this.........

Get used to it, Continental Airlines Employees for the most part are rude, just look at how Larry treates EXPRESS, the employees think they can treat us like garbage because CAL management does, if you arent flying a CAL Boeing, your worthless in the eyes of most CAL employees.

Your kidding right? CAL employees overall I think are much better/motivated and professional then the other legacies. You'll always have your 10% anywhere but I haven't had near the number of issues that I have had with UAL/USAIR/NWA. Only time I've seem issues is when the pilot treats the ramp agents/gate agents like that are below them. At which point I think the response is warranted.

Hmmm, QOL of life not so good. These same senior guys who cry now are the same ones who did not vote for ALPA last year. I hope their QOL is poor right now so they can see what it is like for everyone else who is not on page 1 of the senority list. Maybe this time they will get involved and vote in a union.
