No their not timed. And if you got a below an 70 or 80% you'd have to redo it. It's not like you'd get penalized plus you needed like 30hrs or something on those things. So why cheat especially when it's open book? That's why i'm confused on what really happened...

No, the test in question was the systems test, in which no one had a cheat sheet, or study guide out during the test. Thus, no one cheated. They didn't even have a cheat sheet or study guide with 100% accurate questions that were on any of the current versions of the test. What they had was outdated, and old, and still got hosed.
It wasn't anything different than any FAA exam. They had an idea of what would be on the test, and did not cheat during the test.

Things must have changed. When I did my CBT in Montreal years ago, I believe they were timed. If that's the case, then yea, it's pointless. If it was the systems test, that thing has been floating around for years.
It's fishy in my opinion, who knows what TK or JR are doing like everything else.

Ya JJs gone. Captain I flew with yesterday confirmed they had a copy of the final systems exam which when I went through in December was closed book and not timed.
