How Pinnacle Pilots Get a Contact

Stop coming on here and telling kids with 300 hours how great things are or how things could be worse and a regional is a regional and things will never get better. The 1000 PIC and move on to a major days are over for a while. This could very well be your career.
In order to get management by the balls and make them sweat a liitle bit, stop recruiting pilots. When it costs them money when performance takes a dive and planes don't get flown, maybe they will listen. Maybe negotiations will pick up pace a bit. This is for your benifit and mine. Just say no.

I could not agree with you more However everyone situation is different and so how can you tell the kid who is going to get a job to start paying back the student loans, car loans credit card ect ect When you can figure out a way to tell KEY Bank or Sallie Mae I dont have your money cause I just turned down a job ... well you get my point I have said it before and ill say it again, we ie Pilots are our worst enemy we talk solidarity but really we dont have any,, its all about Me I who cares about the other person.. ok rant over

couldn't agree more. we have guys from some of the carriers that just went under applying at pinnacle because we are one of the few regionals still hiring, and they can upgrade to captain fairly quickly here and hopefully be able to feed their families again, save their house, and wait out the downturn and then hopefully move back up to the level they were at when they lost their jobs.
i have said this before. people coming here doesn't do anything. all of this is all played out already and it is all based on time. we wont get a contract till either the mediator releases us, or till delta/nwa tells management to get us a contract. that will be it. we have been understaffed for years, and nothing has changed. and with the down turn of the industry no one is leaving so they aren't having a hard time staffing right now. so this has proven that the airline doesn't care about staffing issues. whether people come or not they don't care. they just pay the penalites and move on, as we have seen. they tried once by trying to unilaterally bump up the fo pay. we told them no and they said "whatever", and we are still in the same spot.
the only thing that will get us a contract is 30 days and 30 seconds.

I have lost all positive talk for this place. I always TRY to look at positives and mention the negatives but right now all I can say is I don't go "flying" anymore. I go to "work" where I feel like I did in first grade, except there aren't any cute girls to have crushes on. Memo saying "Don't delay a flight to eat" then 2 days later "If you eat, get the same thing as the CA" even though our books said we couldn't do that. Yesterday was the best- a whole new bag policy that had a big impact on W/B that only dispatch knew about. Commitment to Communication... I think not. Safety first... BS. Fair compensation... yea for a GED preferred job. This mickey mouse club has become a broken record and its old.
Don't come here until we get a contract. While YOU may be fine with it- your friends and loved ones will feel different. If you commute you should not even think about it.

Doesn't take long, does it?
When I think about what our work rules should be and what I'm getting payed; that is when I get ****ed off. The less I have to think about Pinnacle the better.
More captains need to get PI$$ED and slow things down. Few more months of crappy performance (no bonus for uncle phil) and we might get some where in the negotiations. Too many people are scared or are 'company guys'.
Personally, I think the mediator has given up hope. We haven't had any formal meetings scheduled in MONTHS.

Pinnacle will take over once Mesa folds as the industry's bottom feeder. That is just how the company survives. It is their primary focus in their business plan. It couldn't be more obvious.

i see where you all are coming from. The crappy thing about the contract and that whole mess is that nothing will happen until Nov. They are going to keep stalling to see who is going to be elected, which is really unfortunate for the pilots. The crews are great but the problem is the constant crap from mgmt. It really is too bad as well. Pinnacle is in a very unique position right now and depending on how all the details are worked out with the merger, this could be a place to come to. What I don't understand is why Mgmt doesn't jump all over this? Things could really be soaring around here if they did what they preached. They'd have a happy pilot group and could set a new standard-but they are doing everything but that and are making a$$es out of themselves. I think sooner or later the contract will be signed and everything will settle down, but mgmt will NEVER change. I don't think Phil and company is as bad a JO and his peeps-but if they continue to run this place like grade school who knows how bad it will get.
