as much as our company hates its pilots they do seem to tell the union a lot of things. it seems like everytime we have a conference call with the union they tell us that they have "privilaged info" from the company that they aren't able to discuss with us. like before we started flying for delta someone asked if we were getting 900's and the mec rep said that he knows whats going on but becaus of confidentiality agreements with the company they weren't able to tell us. we also started negotiating with the company the 900 rates before we even had them "just in case". of course they didn't like our proposal so once again it went to an arbitrator. so they may not like us but it seems like they keep our leaders in the loop.

Then there's the other side of the union getting "too cozy" with the company.

Hopefully that's not the case either!

yeah. i liked our first mec chair when i started here but i did think things were a little to cozy. then there was a melt down and he resigned. i don't think that is the problem with our new mec chair. infact he is always telling us that everyone over at corporate wants to know why he looks ****ed off all the time!!

they can have that list all they want. I'd sooner go work at aeroflot express.

Airsuport -

The briefing by M.N probably had something to do with a pact all the affected Airlink and Connection carriers made at the beginning of this merger stuff. They all agreed to try to work together to deal with the fall out of this merger.

Where did you hear that? Because yesterday I heard that too from an XJ CA. He did not tell me what his source was. Same CA told me he does not think it is even remotely likely that Mesaba will be sold to Pinnacle for various reasons, including the one mentioned above regarding the seniority list stapling. The other reason is NWA is not happy with 9E and is not about to hand over the gold mine to make 9E even a bigger headache. He also said the so called joint Mesaba 9E MEC meeting has nothing to do with 9E buying Mesaba, but it was about the future plans for Mesaba and 9E doing DAL routes after the NWA/DAL merger.

On one of my commutes I heard from a NWA CA that he thinks it is very likely that Mesaba will get the additional options for 18 CRJ9s in addition to the 36 CRJ9s as a temporary measure to fill in for DC9s until a 100 seat replacement is found.

ha. nwa isn't happy with us? so they gave us a 10 year deal because they felt bad for us? and how long is mesaba's contract good for with nwa? right they dont have one. nwa is very happy with pinnacle. we just had a 8 day streak of 100 percent completion for both delta and nwa. your comment makes no sense lightening and you usually post good stuff. but you are way off.

and in the end nwa doesn't matter. its daddy delta that will be deciding what is going on. and since they have recently also given us a 10 year contract to fly 900's i think they are happy with us too.

i will tell you what they aren't happy with. mesaba ground crews in msp and dtw. i love sending in delay reports that we couldn't get parked because the mesaba guys are having a pow wow in the break room and 20 minutes later they come out eating their pizza pockets and bluetooths in ear. what a joke. i am glad nwa has given us the evaluation sheets so we can hopefully get things fixed there.

I do have to agree with you there about rampers at MSP and DTW. They are pathetic, and move at a snail pace. They drive all of us nuts. But that is mainly NWA's fault. They are too cheap to pay decent wages and get enough people to cover the gates. I was in no way implying things are all rosy at Mesaba. No need to get into whose contract is more solid because in the end we are all pawns and no contract with NWA is worth the paper it is written on. Jut look at what happened to Mesaba 10 year contract to fly Avros with NWA.

i wasn't trying to get into a contract match. you are right mesaba had a 10 year contract to fly avros. they went into bk and were able to void it. the exact same could happen to us. if dal or nwa go into bk then we are all in trouble. just thought it was weird you said nwa is mad at us right now.
