That is just to ensure workforce turnover. Too much of that crap will do a number on your body (kidney stones, wreck your BP, heart problems). They are ensuring in 10 years you are unable to fly and they will hire a new guy to do your job.

I gave up that stuff about 5 years ago and have not touched soda since.

So, you as a new EMB CA could bid CRJ CA tomorrow? If so, that's news to me. I thought you had a one year seat lock to complete.
ASA in 1998 was the first union regional to get cancellation pay, block or better, and all of that. We've always had leg-by-leg for cancellation pay, block or better (and we get paid off the published times in the Delta schedule and not based on historical trip times or anything like that), and being displaced off your trip (some contracts do it day-by-day which is not as good). Actually, in 1998, the things we got in our contract blew away most of the other regionals... it's just after 10 years some parts were dated. However, there are still airlines that don't have the work rules we had in our 1998 contract, which is a shame. Are you sure about that? The contract I got hired at while at ACA in 2000 was OLDER than 1998 if I remember correctly. For some reason, I believe it was 1997 when it was signed. We had block or better, cancellation, etc. We also had 1 more day off a month. |

We also had 1 more day off a month. And yes, the days off under the 98 contract were a low point. Like I said, some things were dated after almost 10 years... |

Maybe I was mistaken, but I thought ACA was next in line after we got our contract. That was so long ago that I may be off.

That's why I called it a BS BHO (Brad Holt Override). About the only good it does is increase the total flying seeing you can now lump them all together and all RJ pilots can bid on all the pairings; this greatly increase their efficiency and their credit values as well as their commutability. It may not seem like much but it sure can improve one’s QOL.
BTW, I voted NO for the pay proposal. I wanted a CHO (Credit Hour Override) so that our pilots will get paid the override on the pairings credit value. This can easily be accomplished by using the pairings A/C identifier to set the pilot pairing pay rate. If it is a CR7 or CR9 ID pairing then all the credit (including DH's and Training) will get paid out with the override.

There are also Comair tail numbers being flown by ASA and Mesa numbers being flown by SKW as well as many other regionals. I also believe we have a few former ACA birds as well. Didn’t TSA just get a few Mesa birds and DAL just received 20 757's that were former AA/ex-TWA birds.
Yes there were a few planes that were transferred over but when we received the 12 CR7's from Comair 4 went to SKW and 8 to ASA. Bottom line, planes move and sometimes they move without the lose or gain of flying.

Regardless, our raise was actually spurred on by the failed union vote and not ASA's CBA. The timeline was purely coincidental, besides you can see how much their TA helped us due to the fact that we already had everything they now have with the exception of a few more $ per hour. It seems that our pay and QOL "policies" helped them more than their CBA helped us.
Take a look at the timeline and you’ll see that the SKW pay negotiations spiked shortly after the failed vote.

Wrong and you're giving your CBA way too much credit. Our new pay rates were voted in due to the failed union vote and yes ASA's new pay rates and only their pay rates, as well as everyone else’s were used in the process. But WE’VE HAD YOUR NEW WORK RULES FOR ALMOST A DECADE now and you just got them.
I mean no offense, just correcting your errors. |
Nevets. You're an ALPA prima donna...

Jesus....yet again another "my airline is better than your airline" thread. Pathetic. Hey alpha dogs, put down your swords, take a swig of that Mountain Dew and relax.
