Once and for all!

Let affirmative action, a disservice to unqualified minorities, and qualified individuals alike, enjoy a long death!

Default Women Pilots & minorites....

You know, given the responses I've read in reference to the affirmative action issue, gives credit to the reason why this country has the problems it has. If the playing field was level from the giddiup, there would be no need for affirmative action and all the time and energy wasted could have put to good use elsewhere within our society.

My comments on this particular thread come from real life experiences. Not "tudes" or having an axe to grind. Again, I say, until you have walked in my shoes...you'll never understand.

Cry me a River. I grew up dirt poor. My father was too proud for government assistance, but I am sure we qualified. I remember the first pair of new shoes I ever had. I bought them on credit from JCPenny for $13 and thought my mom would kill me for spending so much money. Yes, I was a white kid. I went to the same schools as all the other kids. I worked the lunch line during recess in middle school because that got me free lunch and some spare change. Through ALOT of hard work, I put myself through college, then flight school. Now, tell me once again, why I should be discriminated against because of my sex and the color of my skin. What part of the field I grew up on was slanted in my favor? Affirmative action IS discrimination no matter how you slice it. I feel sorry for people who think they NEED a program in place to help them. Your victim mentality will only take you so far. You do a dis-service to those people you most closely represent, and are not asking for special treatment. Life is hard, you don't always get your way. Whew, sorry for the rant, you really got me going with this thread.

hey buddy Im white and I have walked in your shoes. Its not just our country or culture that is racsist.

The only way to make this stop is for minorities to stop considering themselves minorities. Maybe when that happens the biggots will stop their ways too. maybe.

Ur not the only one that grew up in a 14 X 40 Fleetwood up on blocks with fake brick skirting and a leaky roof. Although I was privaleged because my family had two kerosen heaters in the single wide.... Break through... Akpilot just help me realize why I like the smell of jet fuel in the morning. It ment that mama was relighting the space heater so it would be warm while I got ready from school. Ahh Heat!!

Akpilot, didnt your ma ma tell you that the Sears card had a higher limit?? You could have gone all out and got you pair of pump up Reebok high tops. That way you wont get raged out at recess for missing that jump shot in your Wranglers. Pump, pump, pump, sshhhhhh!!! White boy can't jump!! Atleast a poor white boy can get a 21.9% credit card.

Reebok Pump High Tops! I wish. Mine were some knock-offs with velcro straps instead of laces. Swwwweeeeet at the time. This was before credit cards. We had a credit account with the store. Wow I feel old now.
