I agree that mainline pilots are and should be upset that regionals are reducing the number of pilots at mainline. I really thought CAL scope was going to get stronger and stronger and eventually take XJT's flying back in house but now that they are talking about a 90 seat turbo-prop... say bye bye to any idea of a future in this industry.
Sadly I see a industry of RJ's and Props filling the skies of tomorrow.

Will you live in Denver?

Starts with 45 min meeting with 6 other interviewing pilots, HR and 2 line pilots. Discussion on company history, where they are and where they are going. Currently finishing up 121 cert with feds and current plan is to be flying by mid Dec. There will be 105 pilots on staff with 10 planes by then. Option for another 10 in 2008. Hiring street CA till Dec. then no more. Will be quick upgrade for qualified FO. Stress quality of life, out and backs with no overnights planed at this time. All pilots based in DEN and that is considered your domicile from date of hire. Owned by Frontier Holdings, however, not associated with Frontier. NO FLOW THROUGH agreements. Looking for pilots that reside or willing to reside in DEN. Discourage commuters and will be no commuting policy. CASS is not on radar. Working on jump seat agreements with other airlines. Great pass privileges on Frontier and can jumpseat on them. Not taking routes from other carriers. All new routes to "feed" Frontier. Looking for long term pilots, no spring boarding to next gig. No hotel or per diem for 2 week indoc in DEN. Off to Toronto for systems and SIM. Paid $50 per day per deim there and supplied hotel. Pay 40 hours for first 60 days or completion of IOE or FED ride which ever comes first. CA $50 and FO $21. Recognize pay and benefits are below standard, however, looking at adjustments in 2008. 2 weeks vacation. Great opportunity for new airline, but not without risk, it is a new airline. All planes are OWNED and not leased which indicates financial stability. Individual interview with HR (Claire), cheif pilot, Dana Floyd and 2 line pilots. They want you relaxed and insist on you taking your jacket off. Claire is very fun and wants you to be yourself. Her questions are basic HR, ever fired, ever failed check ride, have any other apps out there, will you live in DEN, how long will you stay and when can you start. From pilots, what does CRM mean to you, what is your stabilized approach criteria, what is the final approach fix on ILS, what is your proc for go around followed by engine failure on go around, when is alternate required for 121. What are the flap speeds, ramp wt, t/o wt and landing wt for your plane (read from your manual) Review of your plane limitations and basic IFR regs will fly you through tech questions. Call came that evening after interview. Claire is great and she is very natural and making you feel welcome, part of new family and team.

Sorry i would have PMed you but you cant get any yet. All the info is from www.aviationinterviews.com, its worth joining it.

Not current info. All training is done in house now and there is a one year training agreement. CASS has been around since March. Many people commute. Schedules are getting better every month. Overall a good place to be, there are worse. The airplane is fun and the people you fly with generally are great.

Just wondering why we hear nothing about the Lynx Q rates, is it because they do not fly Continental colors?
Actually 21.56 an hour.

turboprops will not take much mainline flying (no matter if they have 50+ seats or not) because they are only efficient to a certain range. XJT guys are doing 2+ hour flights on those cramped 50 seat planes. THOSE are flights that should be done only by mainline. Turboprops are making a comeback, and if I were starting out at a regional right now I would be looking to fly one instead of an RJ. I think you will see RJ operations decrease as TP operations increase in the future with the gas prices the way they are.

As a Frontier pilot, I support the lynx operation and the pilots that work there. I was happy to see us get rid of the Republic (even though I feel bad for the pilots) because they were costing us too much money; and I felt like they were more of a threat to stealing mainline flying than Lynx.
