You put 20% on the street in a knee jerk reaction to 9/11. Only to call them back in a week. Why not but some folks on the street to get a TA approved. After all the TA will be marginally the same as the "last best offer" with a $300-500 FO sign on bonus.
Oh and I heard this from a unnamed high level source!

I do not know a single person who would be willing to vote "Yes" to an agreement with a signing bonus of $300-$500. The union was given $10M in the last offer to use "as they see fit", which had been said to be used as signing bonus money to be figured out by the MEC. This is a small world so I will not question who your "source" is. I have heard from numerous sources (Including guys on the MEC and negotiating people) that signing bonuses will not be full retro but at least $5K. I will vote NO to anything less than $5K as a signing bonus. I looked a few months ago and since I started here at our current rates compared to AWAC concessionary rates the difference was $16K in earnings- not even counting "soft money" such as added credit for trip/duty rigs and block or better. I have some main sticking points on the contract for my "Yes" vote.
-SCOPE
-Pay rate (industry average)
-401K match at least 5% with vesting on a much more aggressive schedule
-min days off (11 was previously agreed upon)
-better reserve language
-trip/duty rigs
-100% deadhead pay
-Signing bonus at least $5K
I enjoy good schedules now and really don't mind 90+ hour block months as long as I am worked efficiently. I just want to be fairly compensated and treated like a person and not just a number (which I know will take more than simply a contract).

actually it was nowhere near 20% that was furloughed and they were out more than a week. Show me someone that didnt furlough after 9/11. Originally Posted by King Lear

Management or their moles on here can use the F word all they want that doesnt mean we are gonna accept a crap contract.

Well seeing as how none of that is true and your brother's sister's uncle's friend's dentist's nephew's dad is probably your 'high level source' I will not worry. The last best final offer was rejected then and anything resembling it will have the same outcome in the future.Originally Posted by King Lear

Can I be a high leveled source if I am tallest of my crew?
The last, best, final offer got turned down. Tomorrow is the start of the next negotiations. It is hard not to have my hopes up, especially as it appears I will have to be an FO for a bit longer than I liked. O well. I get to fly with guys like Mooney who make my life pure hell

.Crossing my fingers for good news from the contract negotiations this week, and from prefbid this wknd...since both things are equally unpredictable and equally shrouded in myth, superstition, and mystery...ha ha.
