When AMR bought TWA, I think all the routes became AMR's. The fact that they kept TSA on after the deal to use to whipsaw their wholly owned regional ariline should tell you all you need to know about AMR.

I have to ask because I feel as though there are some (not necessarily you), but there are some at Eagle that feel as though any regional flying American has you are entitled to, even if they are routes that us at Trans States flew for as TWE. Not trying to encite a riot, but it is the companies such as TSA, Chittyaqua, Republics.... etc that are the problem. As long as some fly by night company is willing to fly in somebody elses colors for cheaper costs, then the industry/profession will continue to slide down. If those companies were not there, the wholly owned companies would be forced to grow. As it is, they just use the subcontractors as a weapon to whipsaw the pilot groups.

As for "your" flying. AMR bought all of it. Look at their histrory. They have destroyed every airline they ever bought. The fact that they let you keep flying this long is amazing.

Excellent idea. Now tell me step by step how you would implement it.

Not so easy now is it. That's why there will never be one list and we'll always be in this same situation.

Herbie, I appreciate your calm pragmatic approach to the topic. It is nice to keep the discussion level headed. To answer your question, I would not question my MEC if we were to take your flying, so long as it was not violating scope clauses in your CBA with your company. If it was an illegal action that violated your CBA, I would question it. In all honesty, that is about all I would probably do: contact my MEC, voice my concern and question it. I would hope that my MEC would step forward, work with your MEC and act accordingly. As I stated in my previous post, I dont dislike the individual TSA pilots and understand they are in a very difficult, powerless situation. However, I do look down upon your MEC for closing their eyes whilst an elephant sits in the room.

Business is business. Flying and routes are going to shift from one carrier to the next. That is the nature of the industry. Its dynamic. CBAs are the core tool and power we have to keep up our quality of life and pay, and I just hope that they get the protection and respect needed.

It's called capitalism. Our whole economic structure is founded on the idea that a company can survive and draw more business if it performs a task or provides a service for a lower cost. Why should the airline industry be any different.
Instead of bashing on some regionals and AMR, why don't you contribute something helpful to this forum, instead of using it for a soapbox.

Funny, y'all must not be trying very hard. There was a 2 hour conference call on Friday with some details, and the draft LOAs have been on the ALPA site for two days now.

Guess I should have pulled out my phone and listened to the call while I was flying.

The LOAs just came out in an email dated June 29 at 11:48 PM. Pardon me for wanting to hear about it from the MEC before the media, not 2 1/2 days later.

Can someone post the LOA email or PM me so I can get a copy? I just faxed my paperwork to the Union 3 days ago, so I don't get emails yet and can't log into the website.

Thanks.
