what i find funny is the 180 degree reversal, a couple weeks ago TSA guys are defending ourselves to no-end about how we didn't "agree" to fly the airplanes, but management made the agreement for us. Eagle guys bashing us on lack of professionalism, etc.....couple weeks later, eagle guys are explaining that "they're not happy to take the planes, but are happy to have the jobs".
I have no hard feelings towards you guys, management is pitting us against each other, and i don't really have any intentions of getting ****y at my fellow pilots for doing the flying their company gave them.

Agreed, We as pilots have little control over the issue. However, the ten airplanes should never have gone to TSA in the first place. It was a bad arbitration ruling... read it for yourself on the ALPA website.

The point your all missing is that AMR hates all of us equally. They didn't return the 10 planes to us because they like us, or they thought it was right. They returned the planes because it was their best business decision. Nobody at Eagle dislikes TSA guys. We've just been catching the AMR hammer for a longer period. Ten year upgrades can make anyone a little cranky. Good luck to anyone on the street.

have this feeling that the only reason AMR thought it'd be good to return the birds to eagle, wasn't for the eagle pilots, but for the AMR pilots who will be furloughed, and need to find a place to work back at eagle for the time being...

The likely reason for the return of airplanes is the fact that Eagle is about to undergo a very vast fleet realignment. We have pretty good displacement and furlough language in place and AMR knows that this realignment is going to be pricey. Having those extra 10 ERJs on property at a company where the vast majority of pilots are qualified if not current in the ERJ will help offset those costs significantly...and it makes the angry and vocal minority at Eagle happy.

Flowthrough/Flowback agreement expired in May. There is no place for AA furloughs to flow back to anymore.

Kinda like we were never supposed to do Miami flying.....I hope for your guys' sake that they can't flowback, but don't be surprised at this point in the industry if things come to light to be able to surprise you.

The last of the flowbacks have been downgraded to First Officers because their start date at Eagle no longer allows them to hold bid status as a Captain. Under the agreement, flowbacks were given "golden" seniority numbers which allowed them to hold jet captain in equipment of their choice. The golden numbers are gone because flowback is gone.
AMR had something to gain by the Miami flying, not this. If they are trying to get extra pilots off the property they will want them completely off the property. If pilots can flow back to Eagle thus displacing an Eagle FO into furlough they save 20K instead of a properly-compensated AA FO
