we appreciate it. things look to be coming to a close for our contract. we got a letter telling us all the improvements and the signing bonus, but they are stuck on prefbid. hopefully as soon as they get that figured out we can get a contract and put that behind us.

So they dropped the current DCI of 200 to 120 with the JPWA? That's actaully good for the industry. It will thin the herd but keep the jobs where they belong.

The old (current until merger closes) DAL PWA allowed 200 51+ seaters 30 of which could be 71 to 76 seats. The JPWA takes the DAL 30 and adds it to the NWA 90 to come up with 120 total. The number of RJs 51+ seats was reduced from 290 (NWA + DAL scope) to 255.

This is what I heard from our Director of Ops. 40 pilots into the pool now and starting September to October time frame, Mesaba will hire additional 50 to 60 pilots. This is the latest info I have. So if you are interested, put in your apps now so you will be in the front of the hiring wave when it resumes.
