Latest at Mesaba

I was told that the language in the JPWA was not based on seats, but rather GTOW. And the number that was thrown out was somewhere in the 85-86,000 lbs range (or something like that). Whatever the number is, it does not include Compass's E175 because they are over that. Is that true?

I guess anything is possible in this crazy business but that is about as unlikely as Mesaba merging with Compass, not going to happen. Latest I've heard is that DAL is planning to sell Comair and Compass after the merger is complete. We'll just have to wait and see.

"You guys ????" Am not nor ever been a Mesaba or Compass employee. Trying to look at what makes good "business sense" for NWA (eventually Big D).
Selling Compass is not getting rid of them if it raises cash and NWA writes a regional support contract with the new owners. It could protect Compass pilots from NWA furlough displacements.
I'll let one of the NWA contract experts correct me but I believe that "if Compass aircraft are sold" it clears the way for Mesaba to add up to fifty four more CRJ900s.

If Compass is sold, Ftrooppilot is correct in saying that NWA/DAL can add up to 54 aircraft initially. NWA has options for 18 additional any Bombardier aircraft and 36 additional aircraft that can be added to Mesaba in addition to 36 ERJ175 to Compass, if Compass is sold to a third party. Compass would be one of the few regionals that would make an attractive buy for a couple of reasons. One, it has no 50 seat RJs. Two, it comes with a solid contract with NWA/DAL. Three, it has very little infrastructure expenses as it has virtually none, and hence is a gold mine.

Where did you get this info? Why would selling CP be a magical trigger to add 54 RJs? It makes no sense at all. Plus selling Comair and Compass but keeping Mesaba? Sounds like Mesaba FO crewroom talk to me.

Aren't you with Compass? This is a Mesaba thread, so why don't you go over to Compass thread and post your thoughts there instead of trying to pick on every post here on Mesaba thread that you don't like. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean they aren't true. If you don't like what you read here stop yourself.

It's funny reading all these post. The Mesaba guys think they will be the favorite step-child, while the Compass guys think think they will be the favorite because they were the first born.. No one know's what the hell is going to happen!

Nothing bogus about the fact if Compass is sold, NWA will award 18 additional RJs to Mesaba and 36 more RJs in addition to that. If you don't know why that is go do research on your own. Now go over to Compass thread and post your speculations there and stop wasting my time.

I think they hate all of their step children. I also think there is a very good chance that CP will be sold post merger now that there is no ownership requirement in the JPWA. Most CP pilots feel the same way. I just think it's really funny how each company has its own "we're taking over" mentality.
