I'm cautiously optimistic that oil will continue down. It broke a key support level at 131 and now techincal analysts say it could move to 115 in short order. Go to Google Finance, get a quote for the USO, select the YTD graph, and you will notice the trend line for oil has been broken. In all past pullbacks, oil hit its trendline support and bounced back to new highs. This time it plowed right through. Of course now that I've written this, oil will spike six dollars tomorrow. It's good to see some encouraging news though.

You know what else would save money?
Selling your boat and trailer.

I'm glad you're optimistic but don't hold your breath.

The boat is an 18' bass boat with a 200 merc which burns very little gas and has more or less paid for itself with the fish I've caught. The trailer earns me money whenever I need to move something seeing I don't have to rent one. It’s called “opportunity cost.”

POPA, good job missing my point. Also my wife and I make enough money to not sweat the gas, but we do in order to create a better future for us and our family.

You are a professional bass fisherman in addition to commuting all the way across the country?

Sign me up for that job.

Well, at least the first part of it...

JetJock, That's actually a very well thought out plan. Unfortunately not everywhere has mass transit, believe me if we had it here I'd use it for everything. Maybe that's another benefit of high oil, if we're not idiots about it maybe we can build more infrastructure. And maybe we can come up with some other useful crap..has anybody seen the new compressed air cars...how is that not a good idea?

If you actually want lower gas prices you gotta let Washington know. Write to your representative, heres a link if you don't know who it is...https://forms.house.gov/wyr/welcome.shtml

Actually, My brother-in-law is a very successful professional bass fisher; we bought the boat from him for pennies on the dollar seeing he won it in a tournament and didn't need it. My wife is a chip off the old block seeing that she could easily join her brother and they both got it from their father who is CEO of HON Industries and professional fishes on his time off.

I'm a very lucky man. She's hot, loves to fish, supports me in whatever I choose to do, she makes a lot more money than I do, she's a great mom and loyal wife. What more could a man want.
