Why does this flight exist? Especially for $500. I recently took this 8 minute flight and wondered about how driving would be 20 times cheaper and why such a flight exists.

Anybody know?

If you want to go to SEA, I'd rather leave out of OXR with cheaper parking and easier security and connect in LAX than drive through LA and deal with LAX pre-security. If the price isn't much more then it's worth it. There are a lot of flights of that length to hubs across the country.

We sure do, and we recently started doing it in the 900.

Yup. they do other whoppers of flights: CVG to SDF and CVG to LEX all are like 30 min flights.

Same for us operating the CR9 between ATL and GSP. That's a 20 minute FLT at most. Really DAL, get some Q400's! .........................same # of PAX for 1/2 the fuel.

I know the argument about passengers and props, but with $130+/barrel oil................................come on?

Kind of like (back in the day) LAX to SNA and ONT! I loved the ONT clearance.............SKW climb maintain 3000', turn left and intercept the 24R LOC. (For those who don’t know…….ONT to LAX is about 30 miles at most and almost exactly on the 24R LOC course)

That isn't even the worst in Milwaukee. MKE-MSN is 78 miles of 4 lane interstate. Real efficient use of a CRJ-200.

The military bases (NAWS Point Mugu, NCBC Port Hueneme), among other reasons.

The OXR-LAX EM2s are actually pretty well-sold, too.
