In case anyone is wondering... oil is up 5.88 on the day trading at $121.44 as of 12:10PM today. Blamed on "tensions" between the US and Russia.

These oil posts get old. Yes oil is important to all of us and our careers but a group of pilots speculating on what oil will do is ridiculous.

Instead of the Doom and Gloom posts like this we should go about our jobs and work on saving a gallon here and there during the day.

Now at $55 a barrel that makes life better, gas across the street from where I live is now $1.64, life is getting better, and better!

Knock on wood lets hope it stays this low...some people are still all "doom and gloom" because of the economy, but they don't understand the fact that the cost savings to airlines due to oil being down is on the order of billions of dollars, whereas the typical recession only causes a revenue loss on the order of millions or hundreds of millions (not to mention the fact that capacity cuts made b/c of high oil prices will absorb at least some of the reduction in demand)

Only problem is OPEC and the Saudi's want two different things. OPEC wants the short term profit while the Saudi's are worried about a decrease in long term demand. Speculation that Saudi isn't cutting production as much as they say.

Odd isn't it, that by the time Bush leaves office a gallon of gas will probably be right around that price.

I'm not Bush bashing. Maybe Halliburton though...

OO.
