I don't care if going to GIA lands your ass on the moon. You've already sold your soul to the devil.

That's why we're talking about GLA, Great Lakes Airlines, in this thread. Not GIA. :D

I have a couple buddies at GLA and they say its not bad. There is no trickery in the airline. You are flying a 19 seat ac and the wages are low to keep it profitable. They have picked up the Big Sky eas flying from what I have heard and upgrades are as soon as you have the min times. Sounds like a good place for fast pic tubine and a great place to hone your stick skills. Everone in the industry respects 1900 drivers for that. 16 an hour compared to 21.... they both will qualify you for food stamps. Happy Flying

Are these guys still hiring? I'm about to be on the street shortly and looking for an alternative. Besides I hear Denver is nice :)

Still hiring. Denver is nice, but if you do it, you should prepare yourself to end up in STL, MKE, or who knows where else for at least a couple of months right off the bat, as Denver is the senior base.

Not trying to flame; but I thought these guys coming back from other places were going to be getting second year Beech CA pay, not first year FO pay.

In this market, with the glut of pilots out of work, if an airline is hiring steet captains.... that is one airline I do not want to work for. It also means you'll be doing permanent IOE, babysitting, with their low time FO's who can't upgrade...

Just to be clear. I don't believe we are hire true street captains. The only "street captains" we have brought on are former pilots that have recently went on to a place that is now hiring. I could be wrong but I have yet to see a street captain here that doesn't have a 1900 type.

Well I've sent in my qualifications numerous times to GLA but the only response I've gotten is a post card saying thank you for applying. I'm a little puzzled because a friend of mine got in with half the TT I have and with little to no turbine. I have 1000+ Turbine PIC but still no call. Is GLA just looking for lower time guys?
