Well dont know how true this is but my buddy said they set you up in the sim doing and NDB app then engine faliure, collecting ice, boots dont work and you have minimum fuel. Those are the scenarios they throw at you. Like i said though I'm not sure how true this is.
Are there any Lakers out there who can validate this? I have to be honest though, the high wash rate kinda intrigues me in the sense "am I good enough" to make it.

i just got an interview with them for sept 15th... kinda excited but the high wash out rate is pretty sketch! just having a hard time figuring out what i should do... to be honest just feel fortunate to have an interview in these times...

Yeah, Wash out rate is pretty high here! Just be prepared to hand fly everything and when the crap hits the fan, well.. you dont have autopilot to rely on. One nice thing about lakes, you dont get paid during training, so if you do wash out, its not PRIA reportable (So I was told in groundschool many times) Lakes is NOT for everyone, but I have meet many people who were ex-lakers and are now working for the majors and I have yet to meet anyone that does not speak highly of there expierinaces at Lakes! Food for thought!

How long ago did you drop your app? I'm still awaiting call back. Good Luck!

I'm hoping to get a chance with GLA and your right. GLA drivers are very respected because of what they do I've heard this echoed throughout the aviation community.

You are not an employee there until you PASS your checkride. If you wash out there is no PRIA reporting necessary. PRIA requests are for companies you have worked for in the past as a pilot. Key word is WORKED. If you wash out then you never actually worked there. Consider it as a couple of free sim sessions. You may have to explain a gap of more than 30 days in your work history at another interview though.

As far as the washout rate goes, there has been concern about that for at least the last 6 months. Let me assure you, the training department is essentially the same as it has been for the last four years, if not since its inception. The new hires today are expected to do the same things as everyone else who has been hired here. Frankly, I think that many of the washes didn't take the training as seriously as they should have. And now that we are getting higher time and experienced candidates, the pass rate will increase.

For those of you who want to apply, do it. Don't let the fear of failure stop you. Either you can do it or you are not quite ready. Be honest with yourself. Just don't think that we suddenly are looking to wash pilots we hired at the time we need them most. Lakes still has the same standards.
